Trend: Ruffle Cardigans for less than $100

Since I am too poor to buy a luxe ruffled leather coat this fall, I'm setting my sights at the more affordable horizon.  Ruffle-adorned cardigans are stylish and comfortable.  Functional and a tad bit girly are just two terms I'd use for this trend.  (Incidentally, they are also two words I'd use to describe myself...I am officially a ruffled cardigan.)

Trend: Fragrance Rings

I know I've been a little MIA lately, and updates on my events are coming soon.  So check out what I've been checking out:

I'm such a sucker for two for one's.  This fall brings us statement rings with a function: solid perfume in a cocktail-size ring.  Make a multi-sensory impact with these affordable scents.  While the bottles might cost you a pretty penny, you can get the exact fragrances for relatively low prices.  Mark is debuting one for $18 in the next Magalog --so email me if you're interested!

Simply Easy Style – Simply Vera Wang

(I have a crazy midterm tomorrow. So I shall let Ms. Vera Wang's work be the highlight of my post.)

If you haven't headed to your local Kohl's to buy from Simply Vera Wang, you're missing out on some fantastic fall fashions. Buy from easy-to-pair pieces from this diffusion line, made for a stylish everyday woman. It's upscale design that I've been able to score as cheap as $5 from the clearance racks. I love Vera Wang's sensibilities --bows, ribbon and flattering muted colors. From sweaters to shoes, bags to tops --there's everything to complete a head-to-toe look. Shop out my fav's under $100:

Trend: Skull Motif

So maybe you haven't figured out which costume you're gonna rock for Halloween this year.  (I sure haven't, but I'm narrowing it down...)  Maybe you just wanna celebrate El Día de los Muertos. Perhaps glam-goth is your latest look for fall.  Regardless of your attitude, think about adding a skull motif to your outfits.  One skull-y piece can add depth to an otherwise basic ensemble.  Again, more than one runs the risk of trend overkill.   I myself own two skull'd up items: a basic scarf with a metallic skull print and a F21 henley from two years ago with a tiny skull print.  Shop my favorite skull pieces below:

One thing I CAN agree with Karl Lagerfeld on…

...is sequined blazers.

With all of the 80's throwback fashions, it can be blinding (haha) figuring out what pieces flatter a modern outfit.  The best thing about these jackets is that all body types can wear them.  Pair a sleek jacket with a skirt, leggings, or jeans --they're that versatile.  What should you be looking for in a great blazer, besides a pretty price tag?  Make sure the lining of the coat is substantial; the sequins can be itchy without it.  Also, note the size of the sequins themselves.  Generally, the larger the sequins, the more vintage-y it looks.  Lastly, single color sequins are sleeker while mixed rainbow colors add some flair to an otherwise basic outfit.  Shop for inexpensive, stylish options here (plus a few sequin shrugs and sweaters, too):

Spend/Thrift: Free Shipping at Target

Head over to Target online for an awesome deal. If you spend $50+ on fashion (outerwear, shoes, beauty, handbags, jewelry, and more included), you get free shipping! With Anna Sui, Hollywood Intuition, and Anna Sheffield available online, it's easy to find many stylish, affordable pieces.  Every time I stop by my local Target, those three brands are practically cleaned out --so it's a great opportunity to nab your favs before they're all sold out online too.  Offer ends October 24, 2009.  Happy Shopping!

Copy Beyonce’s Fierce Style

It's getting chillier here in Texas, but it's still warm enough that people are wearing their shorts and mini-skirts. I've got a photo of the fabulous Beyonce in a Texas-approved party look. Of course, I lack the courage to wear a skirt this short, especially since I'm fearful my Asian nay-nays (interpret this as you will) might peek out from the bottom. What's so great about this outfit is that the neon and metallic trends from the summer can be carried to fit a fall night out. With a ruffle LBD this stunning, sweaters are optional!

All you need are: a tiered ruffle litte black dress, neon pumps, a metallic satchel, large gold pendant necklace and hoop earrings:

More of Emma Stone’s Zombieland Style

Wow, a couple of weeks later and I'm still thinking about Emma Stone's awesome Zombieland outfit.  I found another movie still and I'm putting yet another costume together.  The overwhelming popularity of my original post on her outfit inspired me to add even more affordable pieces to mimic Wichita's style.  This movie photo is even cooler because it features her black fingerless gloves.  There are also more suggestions for her jeans and moto jacket, too.

Spend/Thrift: Purple Color Block Dress

Let me begin by saying that I love Michael Kors. I watch him on Project Runway and I buy from his Michael by Michael Kors line (especially those cute bags).   Unfortunately, I am unable to buy from his most posh line.  One dress that has caught my eye is a purple color block sheath dress which I see as a piece with multiple uses this fall and winter.  This gorgeous frock is sold for the epic price of $1,995. For my high-roller shoppers, click the pic to buy:

A similar looking dress can be found at Wet Seal for $21.50. Granted the belt is a bit thicker, but you can rock this body-conscious bandage dress with the confidence of a Michael Kors model. Click to pic to buy yours today:

I think they look pretty close...what do you think?
