Trend: Fragrance Rings
I know I've been a little MIA lately, and updates on my events are coming soon. So check out what I've been checking out:
I'm such a sucker for two for one's. This fall brings us statement rings with a function: solid perfume in a cocktail-size ring. Make a multi-sensory impact with these affordable scents. While the bottles might cost you a pretty penny, you can get the exact fragrances for relatively low prices. Mark is debuting one for $18 in the next Magalog --so email me if you're interested!

Spend/Thrift: Free Shipping at Target

With Anna Sui, Hollywood Intuition, and Anna Sheffield available online, it's easy to find many stylish, affordable pieces. Every time I stop by my local Target, those three brands are practically cleaned out --so it's a great opportunity to nab your favs before they're all sold out online too. Cradle Robber (not exactly what you’re thinking…)
Steal from a baby! I mean, borrow their shampoo...
This past weekend, I had my yearly checkup with my optometrist who recommended that I use baby shampoo as an eye makeup remover. Since I am a contact lens wearer, my eyes are super sensitive to the chemicals found in traditional eye makeup remover formulas. She told me that since baby shampoo is gentle and tearless, it would be relief for me to use, instead of suffering my usual puffiness/irritation.
I bought baby shampoo that night and now a few days later, I'm already touting its benefits: not only is it painless on the eyes but it's also cheaper than bottled eye makeup remover. It cost me $3.99 (on sale!) for about 15 fl-oz. versus my drugstore eye makeup solution which was around $6 for about 5 fl-oz.
If jacking shampoo from your child/niece/nephew/little sibling/grandchild is of interest, read on...
To use baby shampoo as an eye makeup remover, simply put a tiny drop on a cotton ball. Wet it and then gently rub on your CLOSED lid to remove cosmetics. Then, rinse the area. Repeat with a brand new cotton ball on the other eye. [Disclaimer: I am not a doctor, and everyone's body is different. Please ask your eye doctor if he/she recommends this as a part of your routine.]
And for those who are stickin' to using eye makeup remover or those who are looking to try baby shampoo, might I suggest:
Shecky's Girls Night Out: Dallas
Fashion...Cocktails...Beauty...Goodie Bags...all the elements of the famous Shecky's Girls Night Out: Dallas on October 29 & 30. I've always wanted to go but have never had the time. This year, however, I was able to buy my ticket for 50% off! It was enough of an incentive for me to make time. Shecky's has events all over the country. Here's a video clip of Girl's Night Out:

I will definitely be blogging the awesome time I have there; their free goodie bags are legendary enough to warrant their own post later. But I will also be sharing the awesome fashion and beauty that I score there. Hopefully, by then my camera will be working by then!
(Makeup) Bag Lady
The lens motor on my Nikon CoolPix P80 has been acting up and I wanted to take a few test shots to see how bad the damage is. I decided to dissect my makeup bag and share some of the nifty products that are a part of my beauty routine:
